What Does a Conservation Safari Actually Involve?

Perhaps the best way to explain this is to show you.

The short video below brings together footage from two of our most recent conservation projects, giving you an idea of what actually happens on the ground and just how involved you can become.

We have access to a remarkable variety of conservation operations, from individual species research and monitoring to substantial wildlife relocations. Every project is different, involving its own challenges, team of specialists and particular conservation objectives.

It might involve rhino dehorning, collaring and ear-notching to assist with identification, research and anti-poaching efforts. Or elephant collaring to monitor movements and help address the increasing challenges of human-wildlife conflict. There are lion relocations to strengthen genetic diversity in isolated populations, and buffalo reintroductions, including the essential blood sampling and disease screening that must take place before animals can be moved.

And believe it or not, we don't limit ourselves to land-based wildlife. There are even projects seeking funding to monitor, track and tag whales, contributing to our understanding and protection of these incredible animals.

These are just some examples of the conservation work we can help you become involved in. The projects themselves determine what needs to be done, and our role is to help make them happen.

Have a look at the video. It gives you a glimpse of what's involved, the people doing the work and what it really means to be part of a conservation operation rather than simply watching from the sidelines.

Let's Talk Conservation

If what you've read has caught your interest, I'd really encourage you to get in touch.

Perhaps you're an individual wondering what small-group conservation opportunities we might be putting together, a family looking to share an experience, or a group of friends, a wildlife society or club who would like to get involved in supporting a project together.

You might already have a particular species or conservation issue in mind, or perhaps you're simply intrigued by the idea of getting involved and would like to discover what's possible.

You don't need to have a particular project, destination or date in mind. Every experience is arranged around the conservation work that needs doing and the people who would like to support it.

I'm particularly enthusiastic about this side of Busanga Safaris, and I'd be delighted to have a chat, hear what interests you and explore some ideas together.
